Prendiamo un Caffè?

Growing up in an Italian-Canadian household, Olivia Di Liberto’s design references her heritage. This mural also reflects and pays homage to the vibrant Italian community of Burnaby. This piece is a cheeky and playful take on traditional Italian imagery, such as, Michelangelo’s David drinking an ice coffee and wearing a ‘cornicello’ necklace (a charm that is meant to bring good luck), a zucchini flower (used in a popular Italian recipe) wrapped around a roman pillar, and a soccer ball coffee cup etc.
